Outdoor Firepits and Burning Ordinance

Attention residents: With the summer weather upon us, outdoor fires are a popular way to gather with friends and family. However, it’s important to remember that outdoor fires can pose a safety risk if not handled properly. Please make sure to always have a water source nearby and to never leave a fire unattended. Additionally, be mindful of wind conditions and avoid burning on breezy days. Let’s work together to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer for everyone in our community, while also being considerate of our neighbors and avoiding excessive smoke or noise.

We’d also like to take this time to share a friendly reminder of Wyoming’s ordinance on burning and outdoor fires.

“No person or persons shall set or maintain any fire upon any of the streets, sidewalks, alleys, tree lawns or public grounds in the Borough of Wyoming, or burn or cause to be burned thereon any paper, boxes, rubbish, leaves or other material or substance of any kind, nor shall any person or persons set or maintain a fire of any kind out of doors, anywhere within the confines of the said Borough, as now or hereafter, as the case may be, constituted.”
