ORDINANCE 2 OF 2026
AN AMENDMENT TO THE PARKING ORDINANCE
IN THE BOROUGH OF WYOMING, PENNSYLVANIA,
PROHIBITING PARKING AT ALL TIMES IN CERTAIN LOCATIONS
AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF
BE IT ENCATED AND ORDAINED, by the Council of the Borough of Wyoming, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, it is hereby enacted and ordained by Authority of the same, as follows:
WHEREAS, The Borough of Wyoming recognizes the safety concerns of residents on Breese Street related to line-of-sight restrictions when entering and exiting Breese Street, as well as limitations on vehicles having enough room to both enter and exit the street simultaneously.
WHEREAS, the Borough Council of the Borough of Wyoming has determined that a parking restriction is necessary to promote traffic safety and ensure proper access to municipal facilities.
WHEREAS, The Council of the Borough of Wyoming Code shall be Amended to include this Amendment to the Ordinance, Chapter 15. Motor Vehicles and Traffic, Part 4 General Parking Regulations, § 15-402. Parking Prohibited all times in certain locations Restricted parking on Breese St.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the Borough Council of the Borough of Wyoming as follows:
This Article may be cited as “The Amended Ordinance of the Borough of Wyoming for the Breese Street Parking Restriction ,” and said hereinafter referred to as the “Breese Street Parking Restriction Amendment.”

§ A1-1. Definitions.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated, unless a different meaning clearly appears from the context:
ISSUING AUTHORITY: The Borough of Wyoming, Pennsylvania
NO PARKING SIGN: An official traffic control device erected by the Borough that gives notice to the public that parking is prohibited in a designated area, consistent with applicable state law and recognized traffic control standards.
§ A1-2. General Prohibition.
SECTION 1. Establishment of No Parking Zone.
Parking shall be prohibited on Breese Street for fifty (50) feet from the intersection of Breese Street and Wyoming Avenue on the north side of Breese St.
SECTION 2. Signage.
The restricted area shall be clearly marked with official “No Parking” signs installed and maintained by the Borough in accordance with applicable traffic control standards.
§ A1-3. Violations and Penalties.
Any person who violates the provisions of this Ordinance shall be subject to the same fines and penalties as set forth in the Wyoming Borough Code for designated No Parking areas, as amended from time to time.
§ A1-4 Repealer
All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
§A1-5 Severability
If any provision of this Ordinance shall be declared invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.
§ A1-6 Effective Date
This Amendment to the Ordinance shall take effect on the date of the signing below. The prohibition set forth herein shall become enforceable upon the date installation of such signage.
DULY ADOPTED, on this ________ day of April 2026, by The Council members of The Borough of Wyoming, duly assembled in a Regular Monthly Meeting. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
