The LCD will be preforming another ULC operation to help control nuisance mosquito population on Wednesday, July 12th. There is a rain date of Thursday, July 13th.
“The Luzerne Conservation District (LCD) will be conducting another truck mounted ultra-low volume (ULV) mosquito control operation in parts of West Wyoming, Wyoming, and Forty Fort Boroughs, Luzerne County. Recreational and forested areas in these municipalities will be sprayed for adult mosquitoes. The control work will begin late evening on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Although on a decline, high populations of nuisance mosquitoes continue to be collected in the affected areas.
The truck mounted ULV spray will be conducted by LCD. The business license for LCD is BU 11113. The product that will be used is Aquaduet, applied at a rate of .62 oz/ac. This product is designed to provide quick knockdown and effective control of adult mosquitoes.
Weather conditions and other unexpected events could delay or cancel this spray operation. A rain date of Thursday, July 13, 2023 will be used if necessary..”
